**This is a 2 year limited term appointment funded by extramural funds.
Continuation of employment is contingent upon availability of funds.
This position is committed to 100% supporting research associated with the Auburn University Forest Health Cooperative.
The Forest Health Co-op's mission is to address important, current and pertinent forest health issues in a way that addresses real world management problems in the southeastern United States.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to: assist faculty and staff of SFWS in an on-going research program; engage actively in the installation of research plots, collection and processing of data, that address Co-op priorities; participate in writing
research reports, technical notes and newsletter articles for Forest Health Co-op Members; and participate in presentations at Forest Health Co-op meetings and at regional or national meetings of relevance.

http://www.auburn.edu/academic/forestry_wildlife/foresthealthcooperative/ Entry into the applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent with 1 year relevant experience in forest practices (mycology or entomology).
Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience at a rate of 1 year relevant education per year of required experience.
Knowledge and/or skill to perform a limited variety of processes, methods and procedures associated with a limited range of
scientific problems is required. Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation is also required.
Travel to field sites across the Southeastern U.S. to install experiments, collect data, and serve as a liaison with Forest Health Coop members in a limited diagnostic capacity is required.
Applicant must be willing to work after hours and some weekends.
A valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to selection is required.
